A call to honour or India: From Midnight to the Millennium and Beyond??

I read an article about Jaswant singh's new book in a leading newspaper. It seems that the book praises Jinnah(a Pakistani leader who wanted India divided as India and Pakistan) .As a result, BJP expelled the party veteran. The same news paper also pointed out a similar situation that exists in congress which a few people know of. One of our leaders from congress has criticized the Gandhi family in his book (India:From midnight to millennium and beyond) still Congress took it as a positive criticism and gave him a party ticket(or was it to shut his mouth??). Now he has become the Union Minister for external affairs. What BJP did to Jaswant Singh is nowhere near reasonable. I am not surprised by BJP's reaction. After all, we can't expect much from a party like BJP, can we??  Let me bring you back to Shashi Tharoor. His remarkable references about Gandhi Family makes this book interesting to read. In this book, we can see India from a different perspective.. Take a look at his few quotes on India:"India is not, as people keep calling it, an underdeveloped country, but rather, in the context of its history and cultural heritage, a highly developed one in an advanced state of decay." . "If America is a  melting pot, then to me India is a thali--a selection of sumptuous dishes in different bowls. Each tastes different, and does not necessarily mix with the next, but they belong together on the same plate, and they complement each other in making the meal a satisfying repast." You can't expect anything less from a man who is an encyclopedia of India. Not much to write about Jaswant Singh's controversial book since I haven't read anything about it. When I feel like reading, I would definitely do that and let you all know how it went.
Imagine what Jaswant Singhji would be feeling...

Point to ponder: Where is the freedom of expression??
