Strange Dreams

I had a repeating dream for 3 days last week. I had watched a YouTube video about a murder of a teenage boy, about 18 or 19, murdering his youngest sister. He was very silent, and he agreed to everything the police had asked. He had a stepdad. Later the police found a poem from their home about weird fantasies of killing that little girl.

I had this dream a few days after I had watched this video. And I had watched this video a few years back; I don't remember when, 2022. 2023? Not sure. But it is just a feeling that the boy is innocent. He has other siblings. I just felt it from the moment I watched the video. It felt like he admitted to it and kept quiet because he was afraid. Maybe his stepdad could be a culprit, or someone else. But it was definitely not him. I did not rewatch the video after that. But I had the same dream about the boy and his sister repeatedly for 3 nights last week. I thought I wouldn't write about it. I would try searching for the video, but it was unsettling because throughout I felt the wrong person got convicted. It happened in the United States, but I don't know why. It's just a feeling. What can I do???

Let me find the video first.update as of 5/6/2026 unable to find that video, but sarrch will continue, todayw as one of the darkest days of my life

Human Violence

We all know that domestic violence is an issue. I have seen videos of females blaming the victims of domestic violence for the violence happened to them which is outright cruel. There are other forms of cruelty - bullying is another form of cruelty.

On 6th November 2024, I was walking towards the JBR station and I witnessed something cruel. A man bullying another man. This happened between 7:14 am - 7:45 am morning time. There was security, he didn't do anything neither did he call the police. There were onlookers. I was passing them by.

I stood there so that the big East Asian (He looked Korean or han Chinese) would stop bullying the European/Arab looking young guy. But no. He proceeds to choke the young euro guy, the euro guy falls on ground. His eyes had lost hope. I knew that look more than anyone else. I have felt that look. He had given up on himself.  The look of being lost all hopes. I stood there looked at the guy. The fat taller guy becomes more dramatic and more cruel in my presence. My every instinct asked me to push the Bully. I had my trauma my body didn't move to where my heart wanted to go. My Body froze. But I looked at the Bully and the young guy. I still remember the euro guy's look on his face. I wanted him to be safe. I didn't know the 911 number of Dubai. I went to the station and told the security there. She could see what's happening. I asked her to call Dubai 911. She said she cant report it unless they come inside the station. She said she saw the whole thing. When I was entering the station, the bully guy dragged the euro guy by his hand and was leading him somewhere.

They both were wearing white round tees and electric blue shorts. May be they were couples or boss n employee. I could have called Dubai 911 after taking the Dubai 911 number from security. I didn't. Big mistake. Remember the security outside didn't call police or or dint dial emergency so did the onlookers.

I get into tram from JBR2 and get down at DMCC. I tell the Ticket collector who was an Arabic lady what happened and told her I want to report it because i felt like the young euro guy might be in danger. I know the value of time and someone reporting this as I have seen such violence and cruelty happening to oneself. It was a time sensitive issue. Police comes and tells that it is under another station, so he cant do anything about it. I tell him I want to report it anonymously. He doesn't call the JBR Station. He is just inert. He asked me to go back to JBR and report it. I couldn't go back as I was going somewhere.  Why the Railway Police Person at JBR I reported to, couldn't  just call the Police at JBR and let them know? Nothing happened. I lost my hope. I was going somewhere, so I decided to post online on reddit r/Dubai so that anyone nearer to that location could help. But the reddit r/Dubai deleted my post saying it violated the rules and I should go to police or al ameen.  May be I  should have posted at al ameen. I tried but dint, my internet ran out at that point.

I am sure the admins of r/Dubai has never endured any forms of violence and if they ever do, they might remember this one day. Only people who has endured cruelty (or people who are a bit kind and empathetic) can understand the seriousness of the situation. I being a mere person in another country couldn't do much. I told my mother what happened. I asked for the help of the property manager where I stayed. He told not to get myself involved. But I had reported to people who weren't much enthusiastic about taking action. May be because of the ethnicities of the mentioned people and the Police themselves. UAE Police's average response time is 7.5 minutes according to 2023 data on Google.

This happened on 6th November 2024 between 7 to 8 am in the morning. Right now it is 16th November 2024 12:45 am. This is eating me alive at times. I just hope the young guy is safe. I wanted to tell him that the moment you give up is the moment you lose. It wasn't his fault. Because people who go through such cruelty on a daily basis requires tremendous inner strength to come out and ask for help or to understand you need help. Outsiders can blame the victims as much as they want. It is not their fault that they get bullied.

My dear young one, I understand your pain, your look of forsaken hope is stuck on my heart. I pray for your freedom everyday. May god or whatever force you believe in or not believe in help you come out of that situation and hope that bully gets what he truly deserves. I want you to be safe. Here people fail to understand it is a life at stake. I worry about what happened to you Boy. Domestic violence and bullying may be is not counted as cruel for the Police to come may be in this part of the world? Don't get me wrong. In my country it is worse.

Here at least the ticket collector called the Police and I reported it to the Railway Police. But in my country, I couldn't hope for much either. Because people are much more crueler in such situations. At least that was my experience in my country. No one will help you in such situations, you are on your own.

Problem is I feel I did not do enough. The security on road did not call the Police, the onlookers did not but that doesn't justify me not doing enough.

The Covid Quarantines - is it really necessary?

Yes, we all are waiting for this quarantine to get over to go on with our daily lives. We have been told that this is more deadlier than normal. So was swine flu which happened in 2009, so was SARS which happened in early 2000s and so was AIDS in the 80s and 90s.

We did not have any quarantines for those, did we? The samples of people suspected were sent for further check ups by our own ICMR and the testing and monitoring had continued for years and for many other diseases, we tested and monitored the samples. But all of these happened without any media coverage. It happened as a normal routine procedure. It did not have to be advertised. Now even though we have an active testing/ vaccine research going on at Trivandrum Sri Chitra Medical Institute, the central government did not give permission to Kerala government for covid research and included the Trivandrum hospital which is in Kerala in Tamil Nādu. Politics even in pandemic times!

My point is (as a person who had worked as a senior research fellow on the ICMR project of testing and monitoring of H1N1 and swine flu viruses), we don't need to be quarantined like this, there are much more deadlier and nasty fungal/bacterial/viral/parasitic worm diseases out there and people who look spotless and healthy might have it and we will never know.

Why is this covid given this much importance and propaganda by the media now? I tried rereading my virology from Prescott and I still don't get this quarantine thing... is this a new thing to show other countries in the world that we are handling it effectively? No. We don't need to disrupt public life to handle a pandemic effectively. Any new diseases will peak and then the curve falls, the time frame for it differs depending on many environmental conditions. Quarantine just postpones the peaking of the diseases which in turn postpones the natural immunity development/natural tolerance to that disease in a population.

I am not blaming the Ministry of Health and Family Affairs nor the Prime Minister, they did what they could under these sudden outbursts of the pandemic. I would say we are still doing good than many other countries, but the MOH should take advise from ICMR which has handled such type of situations in the past (I am sure they already have taken advise from ICMR) but it would be a good move to end the quarantine as of now. The Ministry might be criticized for it because the disease might peak in the coming days, but only then can we bring it down. But if the MOH can handle that in the coming days, then we would be on our way to conquering this novel virus in no time.

This is a humble opinion and request of a citizen of this nation to the Honorable Prime Minister and the Ministry of Health.

Since it is a novel disease being tested on populations, it will take some time to develop the right kind of vaccine, it might involve the use the retro viral protein coat itself(meaning vaccine might contain AIDS virus protein and may or may not contain SARS Virus protein in minute amounts in the vaccine), so care and adequate amount of clinical trials evidenced by success, failure and control should be carried out.

Resistance Art

What is resistance art? Before writing about what resistance art is, let me tell you what resistance is.

Resistance is the expression of your opinion which pushes through the oppression on a topic of your choice. Resistance art is the artistic expression of your idea or thought against the oppression that you chose to resist.

The beauty of resistance art is you don't need any credentials or education to express your opinion in a peaceful way.

Look around you. What do you see?

  • Do you see discrimination in terms of gender, race, religion, and politics?
  • Do you see an obsolete social class system that exists in your society?
  • Do you see huge wealth disparity among your country's population?
  • Do you see failure and Death?

There are numerous topics to choose from to express your resistance, but I outlined some general topics which came to my mind.

Have you chosen a topic to express your resistance?

Have you chosen a particular audience for whom this might be helpful?

Having a target audience in mind is always helpful rather than just posting on the internet for a general audience.

Once you have chosen a topic of your choice, research about it. Collect data - I would suggest from authentic sources - like actual scientific data of natural calamities, first-person account of historical events, Statistics, Graphs, etc, and not just any data from publishers or educators.

Now make a presentation or notes regarding the data you found - What is important? What information is relevant to the target audience of my choice? Once you have identified the important information for your resistance, select a medium to express it.

Ways to express Resistance Art:

Do you draw or paint? Would you like to express your resistance through your drawings or paintings? Then go for it.

Do you write? Would you rather write an essay or a poem as your resistance art? ( If Yes, I would suggest you try a hand at slam poetry. They are original work, your own writing and you can present your poem in front of a chosen audience without any music or any other props, using just your own voice.)

Would you rather compose a piece of music(could be classical, EDM, any genre of your choice - doesn't matter) or a verbal song to express your resistance? (Listen to various rap songs if you are interested in this.)

Or do you want to express it through dance forms or run a marathon or run for a social cause?

Would you choose to post a video or post an audio podcast?

You could also express it through lego pieces or by developing a game or an app.

You could express it through a play, as a meme(I would say go for memes, the most popular way nowadays), a one-act play, a movie, etc.

There are many more ways to express your resistance in an art form. If you know any different peaceful forms of resistance art, feel free to post in the comments.

Look at this Video:

What do you feel after watching this video? Do you feel this is a form of resistance art?

What he expressed in this video is a form of resistance art. I would say an exemplary form of resistance art of the 21st century. There may be better artworks that express resistance from history. But this is what comes to my mind when I am writing this blog.

He identified a problem that exists in his society, chose to express it in a way that he is most comfortable with (Keep in mind that this channel owner is a musician, hence he chose music).

Even if your art is not seen by many intended audiences, the fact that you are choosing to express your opinion about oppression happening in your own society is a good thing.

You can find plenty of evidence of resistance art throughout history. Some beautiful historical resistance art is shown in this video.

Try watching this video, the channel owner's strength according to me is making outstanding video documentaries on a topic they would like to comment on

Given the time and interest, which method would you choose to express your resistance art? On what topic?

(P.S. Cursing at your ex is NOT resistance art. But if your ex was Rasputin then it might count)

Remember, the work has to be original.

I am yet to choose a topic and medium of expression. As soon as mine is ready, I will post it here.

Religion and Politics - 2 things that plague humanity

First let me talk about religion.

Religion - why do most humans believe in Religion or some kind of super power who created us all? Because the possibility an alternate theory or belief system is incomprehensible to us. We want to imply grandeur meaning to our own existence rather than believing in an objective reality.

You might ask me, what is the objective reality then? My answer is I do not know what  objective reality is. I do like to believe that the reality of the universe may not involve religion or politics.

I like to believe that irrespective of country, religion, race or every thing that the media use today to divide humanity -  does not exist in the universe. This idea may be comprehensible  only to an inquisitive Scientific mind or a complete idiotic fool like me.

Is one race superior to another? No. Is one country or continent superior to another? No.

We desperately seek meaning to our existence. We want to believe that - what we believe, the place where we are born, the race we were born to are all superior compared to another population. Yes we seek validation by comparing.

Let us accept the fact that, some geographical areas of the earth where humans inhabit is "seen as" the most comfortable and problem free zones by humans from other geographical areas. Not sure how this will help me in developing this idea, but let me just write it here.

Earth supporting life and how life originated on earth itself is a wonder and a unique thing for all humans. So all life forms have a DNA. The evolution of DNA gave the life forms - different sizes, shapes, adaptations and intelligence over time.

All these life forms except humans - Animals - do they have religion? No. Plants - do they have religion? No. Fungi - No, Bacteria - No, Viruses - No.

But in animals - the desire to control or lead an entire population was seen and exhibited by certain members in certain species. Naturally, this tendency was seen in humans as well. This tendency in human population took many forms and out of which religion and politics appealed to the masses. These two became widely accepted  concepts for leading and power control by different populations.

This religion and politics forces humans to breed within their own population, thus condensing more and more lethal genes leading to expression of such alleles.

Let me give a little bit of genetics level explanation here. We  all  humans are prone to, or are already mutating on a DNA level because of exposure to carcinogenic agents like UV Rays and a thousand other chemicals we do not know. Mutation is a change in DNA code at a particular locus in a cell in our body. Genes are nothing but codes of DNA that is translated into proteins. Change in genetic code gives us different traits.

Mutations accumulate over generations and as they accumulate, the cumulative effects are visible after several generations within a population - i.e. inbreeding within a population over the course of many years or centuries causes the accumulation of lethal genes (recessive alleles).

This results in population reduction. If different races or geographically isolated populations interbreed, it dilutes the lethal genes and alleles. Why do incest children have more genetic disease and short life span than a child born out of parents of different races/ geographic regions? For a lethal gene to express, the child should get the same allelic pair from both parents. The chance of this is higher in incest children.  I gave the example of incest children because incest children are the purest form of inbreeding in a population. If you do not know much about population genetics, I suggest you google or read it somewhere. Discussing in depth population genetics is out of scope here.

Coming back to the topic of religion and politics - certain humans wanted to control an entire population, got mad with greed so they invented religion and politics.

The religious texts  of any religion were written by people and not gods. So we cannot prove the existence of god. Religion is madly and  blindly following the belief system of an old person who wrote the religious texts - these are just my words. An entire population blindly following the belief of an ancient person without any logic or proof is a bit crazy. If you believe in a religion and that belief defines your meaning, I don't have anything against it. Your life's meaning is what you make of it.

Politics is a strategical game invented by certain humans for the benefit of the leaders who lead the humans to obtain certain results - like migrating to a place, getting control over a new geographical area etc. These are all  for more comforts and for their own benefit - not particularly for the people's benefit.

In ancient days, it was Kings and Queens but nowadays it is the so called democracy which controls populations. In short, nowadays, instead of kings and queens, it is controlled by the people who have a lot of money. These people with a lot of money are the true policy makers. These people indirectly control and determine what should certain populations believe and what reforms should happen in certain areas of the earth.

These powerful people determine which areas of the earth should be hated and which areas should be loved by the mass. Such people made the geographical migrations (which was the characteristic of many ancient tribes) improbable. They controlled population flow from one region to another through visas and passports. This actually restricts evolution of human race.

What religion and politics does not promote is compassion which is the essence of humanity and higher intelligence.

Some might argue - "This particular religion is peaceful, it promotes compassion ". Then let me tell you - religion was invented over the course of time based on beliefs of one person's point of view - the compassion mentioned in your religious text is the view point of the person who wrote it - just like what I am writing now.

We have harry potter books now . Over the course of time in centuries - if people chose to believe Harry Potter is a god that existed and J.K Rowling was a prophet then there you go - another religion will be added to the existing religions. I wonder what the name of that religion be? Hogwarts? Pure breeds? Muggle haters? Which one would you choose?

If you chose to blindly believe what  I write here is the truth - then there you go - I succeeded in inventing a new religion - and Yes I am YOUR PROPHET :)

Books are the author's point of view. Do not blindly follow them.

When you hate in the name of religion, politics, geography, race - you feel agitated and irritable. But when you show compassion to another being - you feel good about yourself. Those who are cruel - they are yet to discover compassion.

If you think religion or politics or superstitions are to be laughed at - no. It is not to be laughed at. These has to be taken seriously. We need to try to change the mindsets of people with such radical beliefs rather than laughing at it. At least try to let their minds be open to the possibility of an objective reality which we are yet to discover.

Let us open our minds to the possibility of a reality where there is no need of superstitions, religion or politics but compassion.

Disclaimer: These are the ramblings of a sleep deprived brain, so read it at your own risk.

A call to honour or India: From Midnight to the Millennium and Beyond??

I read an article about Jaswant singh's new book in a leading newspaper. It seems that the book praises Jinnah(a Pakistani leader who wanted India divided as India and Pakistan) .As a result, BJP expelled the party veteran. The same news paper also pointed out a similar situation that exists in congress which a few people know of. One of our leaders from congress has criticized the Gandhi family in his book (India:From midnight to millennium and beyond) still Congress took it as a positive criticism and gave him a party ticket(or was it to shut his mouth??). Now he has become the Union Minister for external affairs. What BJP did to Jaswant Singh is nowhere near reasonable. I am not surprised by BJP's reaction. After all, we can't expect much from a party like BJP, can we??  Let me bring you back to Shashi Tharoor. His remarkable references about Gandhi Family makes this book interesting to read. In this book, we can see India from a different perspective.. Take a look at his few quotes on India:"India is not, as people keep calling it, an underdeveloped country, but rather, in the context of its history and cultural heritage, a highly developed one in an advanced state of decay." . "If America is a  melting pot, then to me India is a thali--a selection of sumptuous dishes in different bowls. Each tastes different, and does not necessarily mix with the next, but they belong together on the same plate, and they complement each other in making the meal a satisfying repast." You can't expect anything less from a man who is an encyclopedia of India. Not much to write about Jaswant Singh's controversial book since I haven't read anything about it. When I feel like reading, I would definitely do that and let you all know how it went.
Imagine what Jaswant Singhji would be feeling...

Point to ponder: Where is the freedom of expression??
